Clay.alfred.edu is brought to you by the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University as a way to share our technical resources with the ceramics community at large. Through this website, you can search the Alfred Glaze Database, view the slide portfolios and Technical Statements of Alfred MFA graduates, and learn more about Alfred's faculty and facilities.

This website is a work in progress. Our aim, for the time being, is to put the MFA archive for the last ten years online, while updating the glaze database. If you are an Alfred Graduate, and would like us to include a link to your website, or a short statement about your work, contact us at potteryliberation@yahoo.com. If you have any additional questions or feedback about the website, please contact us at the same address.

Once inside the MFA database, you can search the graduates by name, year of graduation, or by medium and firing range. For each graduate, you can view thumbnails of their slides, then click on the thumbnails for a larger view. Please feel free to print and share this information with classes and colleagues, but please give credit to the original source and artist.

Finally, this site and database would not be possible without the generous help of many others, including Richard Burkett, creator of Hyperglaze and GlazeBase, Terry DeSantis, creator of the original version of AlfredGlaze, Val Cushing, and the faculty and staff of Alfred University.
